About The Moulton Lab

We are part of The Wilson Centre for health professions education research in Toronto, Canada. The lab specializes in qualitative research methods and research from the ground-up. Often times we embark on new research areas to ask questions that haven’t been asked before and along the way, we explore new methods for looking at complex problems.

Research overview

Dr. Moulton’s research program focuses on understanding the complexity of surgical judgement, the development of surgical expertise, and underlying causes of surgical error. By understanding these factors, our goal is to translate findings to better inform medical education, practice and policy, and ultimately lead to better patient care.
